Vellum. Condición: Very Good. 8vo. [8], 256 pp. With engraved frontis portrait of Davanzati, and a folding diagram regarding currency exchanges. The principal work herein gives an account of the English Reformation, or Henry VIII's break with Rome, through his daughter's, Mary's reign. The other works contained herein, though, may in fact represent more important pieces from a historical perspective. The first two of these are "Notizia de Cambi" and "Lezione delle monete", which are early discourses on economic topics and the former, on the working of exchange rates. Also of special interest would be "Coltivazione Toscana delle Viti, e d'alcuni Arbori". which deals with the viticulture. The other works are "Orazione in Morte del Gran Duca Cosimo I", a tribute to Cosimo Medici, and "Accus data dal Silente al Travagliato". The variety of essays in the collection capture the range of Davanzati's interests as a prototypical Renaissance man. Contemporary thin, limp vellum. Light wear, and a few marginal stains.
