The founder was interested in the history of medicine, including subjects such as alchemy or witchcraft, anthropology and ethnography.The collection includes books on the history of medicine, medical and Asian books, archives and manuscripts, rare books, paintings, prints, and drawings, moving image and sound, and Wellcome images.These catalogues are of the books printed before 1641, with a foreword by Sir Henry Hallett Dale, and books printed from 1641 to 1850 in two volumes, covering the catalogue from A-L. Lacking Vol. IV and V which complete the catalogue. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The boards of the first two volumes have some minor faint handling marks, with some minor soiling to the rear board of vol. I. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
