A comprehensive account of the principal voyages that led up to the discovery of the North Pole in 1909 by Commander Peary. The author has selected the more important expeditions sent out to explore the Arctic regions, those sent out to discover, first the existence of a possible Polar Sea, and later to find the Pole itself. A very good copy with light wear to the cloth. The text is very good and clean. The jacket is good with some chips and small tears to the edges and some soiling to the rear panel.
