hardcover, 8 3/4" x 5 1/2", with dust jacket 200 pages Green cloth-bound boards with black type to spine, illustrated endpapers [book plates], photographic portrait as frontis, 16 b&w photographs, 2 caricatures, index. 'Bob' Croll (1869-1947), educationalist, was very active in Melbourne's literary & arts scene, and a frequent contributor to newspapers & journals. He was a friend of C J Dennis, Hugh McCrae, Henry Lawson, Web Gilbert, John Shaw Neilson, David Low, and Blamire Young - an amazing cross-genre mix of creative talent, mostly Melbourne-based. His memoirs have an open-air freshness, and show a lively intelligence. Foxing spots to edges; jacket has edge-wear, tears and small gaps - now protected. GOOD book in GOOD unclipped dust jacket.
