Soft cover. Condición: Good. 293 pp., xxv. Presumed First Edition with no editions, printings or number line cited. Glossy red wrappers with title and Subtitle lettering in white and black lettering, respectively, across top third front cover, above a black and white illustration of an ostensible "EKG printout" across middle front cover; Author names in small white letters across bottom front cover. Following the Preface and Introduction, Contents divided into 6 sections with three short stories each, each trio followed by "Questions for Discussion / List of Additional Stories": (1) "Preliminary Phase"; (2) Spectator Phase"; (3) "Increasing Participation Phase"; (4) "Shock Phase"; (5) "Adaptation Phase"; (6) "Re-Entry Phase". Previous owner name and date discreetly at top left inside front cover; 'WITHDRAWN' red-stamped top and bottom edge and on ffep and rear flyleaf (NO other indication of being an x-Library book); 1 1/2" soft crease (NOT folded or floppy) on the diagonal at right bottom front cover corner (does not actually reach either the right edge or lower edge, but confined within those borders, echoes only through ffep, not text itself)); 3/4" fan-shaped water stain at same lower right front cover corner, but discoloration is thin with micro-jaggedness along "fan" edge for only 4 pp., rest of impact diminishingly, through p. 5 (text NOT impacted): describes much worse than it is, but there you have it. Binding tight (NO cracks); corners sharp (Micro-tip wear). Clean text. Despite peccadilloes, Solid Copy.

Paperback. Condición: Good. First edition. Original bound wrappers. The premiere issue of Transition, a magazine of art and literature first edited by Eugene Jolas. Distributed out of Sylvia Beach's Shakespeare and Co. bookstore in Paris. Notable in many ways including the first appearance of the first section of Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce plus contributions by writers and artists such as Hart Crane, Marcel Noll, Pavel Tselitsieff, Max Ernst and many more. Front cover loose from binding. Several small chips to cover edges. Internally clean, unmarked and still decently bound. A rather fragile production. Transition ran from 1927 to 1938 and included 27 issues. Intended as an outlet for experimental writing with a heavy emphasis on surrealist, expressionist and Dada artists.
