HC full period morocco leather elaborately decorated with pictorial and lettered borders in blind and pictorial vignette in gilt to sides. Spine in six compartments with five raised bands; gilt titles and decorations tooled directly to leather at spine dulled. Front board and first two endpages detached at joint with old tape residue repair attempts in the gutters of the endpages. Illustrated with six tissue guarded chromolithographs by Thomas Sinclair after art by the author. Scattered light foxing to page stock; usual light toning to the white paper stock of the chromolithos. Very handsome and elaborate Victorian fine binding but with front board detached and needing some restoration. Mild edge wear to the first color plate. Good only.
