Front board very slightly bowed. On the bottom of the spine, in gilt letters, the name of the prior owner who had this bound, Murdo J. MacLeod (b. 1935), a Scottish historian of Latin America, who published extensively on the history of colonial-era Central America, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic world. MacLeod's ink signature to the top margin of the blank front free-endpaper. Half-inch stain to top of title page. Fraying to the end of the ribbon marker. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked. Scarce. ~JJJ~ [2.0P] A history of the Colonial Town Hall in Guatemala City. Author Ernesto Chinchilla Aguilar (1926-1996) was a historian, poet and university professor. He wrote dozens of other published works, including The Independence of Guatemala (1948), The Inquisition in Guatemala (1953), Positivism and the Reform in Guatemala (1961), History and Traditions of the City of Amatitlan (1961), History of Art in Guatemala: Architecture, Painting and Sculpture, 1524-1962 (1963), Formation and Development of the Guatemalan Army (1964), Alejandro Marure (1966) and Compendium of Contemporary History of the Isthmus (1973).
