Blue cloth with gilt leters on the front cover and the spine and with a stylized mask in gilt in a gilt medallion on the front cover and a stylized mask in gilt on the spine. Some wear to extremities with two corners just barely worn through, spine very slightly darkened, cloth clean, gilt bright, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Helena Chalmers wrote several books on the stage, including "The art of make-up, for the stage, the screen, and social use" (1925) and "Clothes, on and off the stage; a history of dress from the earliest times to the present day" (1928). She was Instructor in Make-Up, American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
