'Dyson Carter, Sovietophile and member of the Communist Party of Canada, spent most of his career promoting the USSR to North Americans. He served as President of the Canadian-Soviet Friendship Society (CSFS) from 1949 to 1960, edited the CSFS newsletter News-Facts about the USSR from 1950 to 1956, and published the popular pro-Soviet magazine Northern Neighbors from 1956 until 1989' [JCHA]. Dyson and his wife Charlotte toured the Soviet Union in 1950-1. This book is very much a Pro-Soviet Message. 2 volumes in 1. Two Title pages. 396 pages total, photo illustrated. Interior is bright and clean. Previous owner's signature to the ffep, otherwise unmarked. Tight, square binding. Blue cloth board show no wear. Spine shows very light surface wear, silver titles somewhat faded. Extremities of the spine show some wear, more at the foot than at the head. Postage, at Cost, to be determined when location of potential buyer is known and when type/s of postage required are known. Uniform postal charges usually do not work. When cost is determined, buyer can then freely accept or decline the charges. We ship to so many different locations and to olver 60 different countries, a single pre-determined amount makes little sense.

Softcover. Condición: Near Fine. First edition. Quarto. Printed bifolium housing five corner-stapled mimeographed reports ([108]pp. total). Ownership stamp and signature of a noted American psychologist, as well as the subject written along the spine, both on the cover. Trifle musty, light wear at the fold of the bifolium, near fine. The five reports of "Series M," being: "Using Tension and Excitement to Improve Mental Health" (20pp.); How to Understand and Overcome Unpleasant Moods" (22pp.); "Can Your Mind Cause Cancer?" (22pp.); "How to Recognize and Treat the Common Mental Ailment: 'Neurasthenia'" (22pp.); and "Methods to Relieve and Prevent Weariness" (22pp.). These reports, authored by the Carters, reportedly draw on information that has never before been available outside the Soviet Union. The Carters were members of the Canadian Communist Party and the Canadian-Soviet Friendship Society. P.[3] of the bifolium housing lists other titles by the Northern Book House. Rare; we have been unable to locate another set in *OCLC* or commerce.
