This section is illustrated with cartoons by Nevile Lodge., Part two lists challange matches and results in chronological order, part three a match summary compiled with provinces listed alphabetically. while part four, Records and Performances. presents a mass of Shield statistics. It would be fair to say that this book covers the Golden Age of Shield rugby. The author was NZ Rugby Union official historian.
