Encuadernación de tapa dura. Condición: Muy bien. In-8º. #1 Jan/Mar 1955 - #4-5 Jun/Dic 1956. (Complete set). Bound in half green cloth. In the first quarter of 1955, Carlos Manuel Muñiz founded Ciudad; Ludovico Ivanissevich Machado, Hugo Ezequiel Lezama and Adolfo Prieto were in charge of the editorial office. Five numbers in three issues constitute the existence of this important publication, in which the fundamental accent is given by the willingness to witness aspects of our contemporary culture. Implicit in this is an attitude that does not exclude criticism, with an enlightening sense, of the Argentine reality, of our values, of our literature, which the people of Ciudad do not accept "as pure game, as entertainment and adornment", but that, "it should be a vital function of the writer, be something like breathing for him, integrating his life". Sagaces studies on Ezequiel Martinez Estrada, Jorge Luis Borges and Francisco Romero in two numbers, exemplify that concern. Sign of a critical time, reunion and review, the intellectual work developed by City will remain as an interesting contribution in recent years to the revision of an Argentine cultural consciousness. Other collaborators included the names of Norberto Rodríguez Bustamante, Adolfo Prieto, Magdalena Harriague, Julio Alvarez, Ludovico Ivanissevich Machado, Ismael Viñas, Héctor Grossi, Héctor Bianciotti, Victor Massuh, Eduardo Jonquières, Ramiro de Casasbellas, Rubén A. Benítez. Provenzano 282. Washington Pereyra T5,p108. W20.
