The aim of this work was to present readers with a 'series of charming drawings of places of historic interest' in India, alongside engaging and personal travel narration. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Cloth is generally bright with some marks and discolouration to the boards, as well as particularly to the spine. A bit of wear to extremities, which has resulted in a little loss to the fore edge. Some spotting to fore edge. A bit of cockling and age toning to the paste downs. Prior owner's pencil inscription on recto of front endpaper. Residue left from sticker on front pastedown. Internally, generally bright and clean. A few scattered spots, particularly to the margins of some pages. Folding map at rear is bright and very clean. Very Good. book.
