Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Light tanning to spine and edges. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing. Mild sunning to spine and edges. Dark rubbing overall. Scuffed hole to rear panel.

Pile was an historian of significant renown in the Weald and this appears to be effectively self-published though, for many years in the 1950s and later, he was secretary of what was then the Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Local History Society (now the Cranbrook Museum & Local History Society). Light crease on front cover, tiny marks on front and inside rear cover, generally very clean and tidy.
