Condición: Very Good+. On offer is a super original typed letter to noted bookseller Constance Spencer of San Francisco signed by Fanny Butcher Bokum [1888-1987] a writer for the Chicago Tribune newspaper. She at times held the following positions: social editor, club editor, assistant women's editor, special correspondent, assistant music critic, and literary editor. Among her close friends in the literary world were Edna Ferber, Willa Cather, Carl Sandburg, Sinclair Lewis, H.L. Mencken, Gertrude Stein, James Joyce, Billy Wilder and her favorite Ernest Hemingway. Great content TLS, 1973, 2 full pages. Mentioning Willa Cather she says in part ".As I told you before, Willa never mentioned any even remote romance to me, and oddly enough the only person I ever heard anyone even hint at one was with her publisher, Alfred Knopf and I would put my hand into the fire that it was not a real one." VG+. Size: 5 X 7 in. Manuscript.
