Hardcover in dust jacket. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. First Edition. 8vo. Pp. 238. Illustrated with b&w reproductions. Introduction by Nard Jones. Brown and green cloth binding with small illustration on front cover. A particularly desirable copy, Fine in Fine dust jacket and with a printed note from the author laid in. Broderick's lovingly collected reminscences about his city are a fair assessment of the history of early 20th C. Seattle. Plenty of pleasantly off-color anecdotes, mostly involving vice, depict a burgeoning city alive with growing pains. Bookseller inventory SMDS-YM-GH.

Fading to edges of cover, else fine. Inscribed by Broderick on the ffep. Inscribed by Broderick: "Blessings on -- and --. PS. Fond wishes! Henry". One of the chatty and informal histories of Seattle, which are all entertaining. Broderick jumps from lively anecdote to livelier anecdote. The historic photos are terrific.

Libro
Soft cover. Condición: Fine. Original publisher's yellow wrapper with an illustration on the front cover of people riding in a streetcar. 6 1/2" x 9 3/4." Twenty-five unnumbered pages, complete. Black and white illustrations, complete. Pages and covers are pristine and intact except for slightly bumped corners on the covers and a few small creases near the top edge of the covers. A fine copy. "Printed for Henry Broderick, Christmas 1967, by Frank McCaffrey at the Dogwood Press, Seattle, USA." "At this point, the reader is cautioned that what follows is not a history of Seattle. It has to do with personalities and characters that were part of the roots of our City. . Let us now look in on a few personalities or characters that were caught in the limelight around the turn of the century. . In the main, they will be men with whom the writer had some kind of personal contact--men who stood out in the crowd because they were endowed with extra ability, originality or eccentricity, or perhaps were lucky enough to be on the spot when the spotlight was turned on." The author briefly describes some events that happened during the early history of Seattle such as the Klondike Gold Rush, the city's railroad days, and the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific (A-Y-P) Exposition. People featured in his essays include aristocrat and entrepreneur Harry Whitney Treat, impresario John Considine and his brother, Tom, tycoon and banker Jacob Furth, musician Nicholas Oeconomacos, dog lovers Melody Choir and Tom Dutton, businessman Victor Hugo Smith, who built the Triangle Hotel and Bar which still stands to this day, and real estate developer James A. Moore. Henry Broderick (1880-1975) lived in Seattle for much of his life and was a successful realtor and local historian.
