Smudging and soiling scattered throughout. Light notes and underlining scattered throughout. Page 63/64 is torn almost all the way from the bottom up, a few other less drastic page tears also found. The block is broken near the center with the adjoining pages being slightly loose; the binding is otherwise fairly sound and the book remains readable. LACKS MAP. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 253 pages.

The book is dedicated to Captain Francis Newton Allen Cromie of the Royal Navy who was killed defending the British embassy in Petrograd in 1918. Also LAID IN : Two items,(1) the program menu of the Annual Senior Banquet of Wichita High School, dated May 1, 1937. along with (2), a 23 line hand written, personal, note dated 9-13-1923, and presumably to the previous owner of this book, Mrs. Will Harmon, whose name and address is written on the verso of the frontis. Condition: Front hinge weak, spine and edges worn, a slight turn to spine, minor dampstain to top edge of first few pages (up to page 3) not affecting text block, and not wrinkled.
