Pages are bright and clear, with light tanning to text block edges. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper, with a few tiny nicks along text block edge. Minor dog-eared corners. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and mild crushing to spine ends. Boards are subtly bowed. Faint tanning to spine and edges.

Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is bright and clear. Minor sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Minor wear marks to boards.

Titles embossed on gilt-coloured (but rubbed and faded) section running across the front board and the spine. The lower corner of the front board has been heavily bumped. From the undated author's Preface, the book 'gives to the trade a permanent record of The Practical Baker, a comprehensive treatise on bread-making, which ran through The British Baker in serial form. Includes a picture of one of the bakeries on the Queen Mary. Scarce. Size: 8vo.
