In-8,relié plein basane époque , filet sur les plats , dos lisse avec pièce de titre , tranches rouges , XII-344 p., cachets répétés de L.Thoreux , dernier commandant du paquebot le Normandie. Édition originale, dont le récit déplut à Bonaparte. Une deuxième édition augmentée, sous la restauration, paraîtra en 1814. Jacques-François Miot (1779-1858), frère de Miot, comte de Melito, embarqua pour l'Égypte à 19 ans et suivit le quartier général en tant que commissaire des guerres. Rédigés d'après ses notes journalières, ses mémoires abondent en détails sur les curiosités du pays, les coutumes des habitants, l'organisation de la petite colonie française et les difficultés rencontrées, les batailles , escarmouches et anecdotes de la campagne d Égypte ( Miot cite beaucoup de noms de soldats ou d'officiers blessés, tués ou qui se sont distingués durant la campagne, et fournit des renseignements sur les maladies qui éprouvèrent l'armée, il critique aussi la gestion administrative du général Menou .P2-1B.
