Libro Original o primera edición
Hardcover. Condición: As New condition. Alexandria, Virginia:: Time Life Books, 1983. A gorgeous copy. Bright, clean, square, tight, and unmarked. No corner bumps. No owner's name. No remainder mark. Fresh and crisp, obviously never read. The binding on this copy is GENUINE LEATHER, superior to the cheaper leatherette (imitation leather) found on some later printings. Although at first glance, leatherette can look a lot like leather, it does not age as gracefully in the long run. Laid-in is the publisher's introductory letter, which says in part: "This leather-bound volume." [the reference to leather was later removed for the leatherette copies]. There is also a statement printed in the book on a preliminary page: "This volume is bound in leather." The binding is gilt stamped, and embossed with a handsome western motif (including rising sun, longhorn steer, tomahawk, and six shooter/bullets). A silk ribbon page-marker is sewn into the headband. All edges gilt. Attractive marbled endpapers. With 29 illustrations (28, according to Graff), including a frontispiece portrait of the author. Graff 44: "The author, known to his friends as 'Montana Allen,' tells some wild and possible tales of pioneer life in the West." Howes A165 [Final Edition A166]. A beautiful book in gift quality condition. Facsimile reprint of 1903 first edition. Hard Cover. As New condition./No Dust Jacket, as issued. 8vo. 302pp. Facsimile reprint of 1903 first edition.

Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The philosophical significance of Maurice Blanchots writings has rarely been in doubt. Specifying the nature and implications of his thinking has proved much less easy, particularly in reference to the key figure of G. W. F. Hegel. Examination reveals that Blanchots thinking is persistently oriented towards a questioning of the terms of Hegels thought, while nevertheless remaining within its themes, whichshows how rigorously he studied Hegels works but also how radical his critique of them became. Equally, it allows for a crucial discussion of the differences between Blanchots responses to Hegel and those of Jacques Derrida, with the implicit suggestion that in some ways Blanchots critique of Hegel is more far-reaching than that developed by Derrida.William S. Allen demonstrates those aspects of Hegelian thought that permeate Blanchots writings and, in turn, develops a detailed three-way analysis of Derrida, Hegel, and Blanchot. The key question around which this analysis develops is that of the relation between thought and language concerning the issue of the infinite and its legibility. Illegibility introduces a new and substantially philosophical account of Blanchots importance, and also showshow his writings laid the ground for Derridas workswhile developing their own uniquely challenging response to the problems of post-Hegelian thought.
