Boards lightly soiled as is common for this book. Illustrated with Black and White Photographs. Fold-out map to rear. Appendices include Honours & Awards, Roll of Honour, Operation Order 2/10th Battalion AIF Balikpapan, Administration Order - 2/10th Battalion AIF "OBOE TWO", Nominal Roll. VERY SCARCE first edition. Previous owner's details to front free end paper. 454 pages. The 2/10th Battalion was the first South Australian battalion formed for the Second AIF. It came into being on 13 October 1939 and saw action in Egypt, Syria, Papua and Borneo. The Battalion disbanded at Balikpapan on 29 December 1945.

Also laid-in is a copy of the undated 16-page supplement, several photographs, and a memorial booklet for Geoffrey Ronald Miethke, a member of the unit. Ffep carries ownership inscription.
