The work is dedicated to Michael Ventris, who had deciphered the Linear B script a few years previously. His landmark work 'Documents in Mycenaean Greek' co-authored with John Chadwick, was published in 1956. Ventris died in a car crash immediately prior to its publication. From the private collection of renowned British archaeologist Sinclair Hood. Signed by Hood to front free endpaper (as MSF Hood) and with his margin markings and notes in pencil (including some coloured pencil additions to the plans). Overall condition is Very Good. Size: 9.5 x 11.75 inches (23.5 x 30 cm).
