Blue cloth elaborately decorated, framed and lettered in gilt to front and spine; blind embossed decoration to reverse. Bevelled edges bumped to corners with some shelfwear to edges, slight damaage to top of spine and sine split along front hinge. Black endpapers. Frontispiece b/w engaving with tanned tissue guard. First three leaves, comprising illustrated title page, second title page decorated in gilt, and preface, detached from page block but intact. pp. 91-92 also nearly detached. 168pp., framed in gilt with gilt and b/w illustrations.
