Sinopsis: This contemporary title explores yoga trends in today's health-oriented world. The teenage reader is exposed to the universe of the most popular styles of yoga, including hatha, vinyasa, Ashtanga (power yoga), Iyengar, and Bikram (hot yoga), and is encouraged to draw conclusions as to the appropriateness of the activity in his or her life. New and trending yoga styles like doga, yogalates, and acroyoga are included. Safety issues are presented where appropriate. The Yoga Fitness title has been developed to encourage teens to analyze the information and satisfies many of the Common Core specific goals, higher level skills, and progressive strategies for middle grade and junior high level students.

About the Author: Amie Jane Leavitt is an accomplished author, researcher, and photographer. She graduated from Brigham Young University as an education major and has since taught all subjects and grade levels in both private and public schools. She is an adventurer who loves to travel the globe in search of interesting story ideas and beautiful places to capture in photos. She has written more than fifty books for kids, has contributed to online and print media, and has worked as a consultant, writer, and editor for numerous educational publishing and assessment companies. Amie has been practicing yoga since 2006. Since the first time she tried it, she knew she loved it so much that she was going to continue practicing it for the rest of her life. Because of that, she particularly enjoyed researching and writing this book and hopes that those who read it will gain a greater appreciation for yoga and a desire to practice it as well.
