Olive green boards with decoration and gilt titles. First edition 1889 on Title and CR pages. Not first state. See images. Pg. 72 does not have broken type. Missing S ornament. Page 341 has broken type. Missing half title on recto of frontispiece. Boards with light wear, some edge wear, a few scratches, light soil. Front panel has a small black circle (ink?) below the letter "T" in court. Spine extremities and joints with edge wear and some tiny tears. Top joint has more noticeable closed tear hole. Wear to cloth along front/rear hinges. Corners bumped, turned inward, fray, board exposure. Top front corner with crease from bump. Decorated endpapers. Tiny chip at top edge of front end paper.
