Catalog of an exhibition held at the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum, October 2-November 27, 1988. Description: 1 volume (unpaged) : illustrations (some color) ; 30 cm. From the representative themes that repeatedly appear in Japanese art designs, we selected five themes, "Story / Poetry," "Yukigetsu Hana," "Spring Autumn," "Sakura," and "Akikusa," and drew them based on these themes. By exhibiting masterpieces of Yamato-e, the tradition is grasped from various angles such as creativity, design and expression, and changes in the way of drawing, and the origin of Japanese beauty and heart is explored. While broadly interpreting the concept of Yamato-e as a painting with a Japanese theme and style, modern Japanese paintings from Tosa school, Sumiyoshi school, Rinpa school, Kano school and Ukiyoe writer who drew Japanese themes.
