Black-and-white photographic frontispiece of a Yulengor man. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photographs. Black coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the back strip. Black-and-white photographic dustwrapper with yellow coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. In 1934 the author went to Arnhem Land to set up a missionary Centre under the auspices of the Methodist Church. This centre was to be a "buffer" between occasional intruder (non Tribal) and the people who call themselves - the Yulengor. This is the story of the author's interaction with the Yulengor People. Minor softening of the back strip edges with browning of the text block edges and foxing. Age toning of the pages with a small erasure mark to the top right hand corner of the free front endpaper. Light foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. Some Chipping to the dustwrapper corners, back strip edges and lower edge of the front panel.
