7 1/2 in. x 9 1/2 in. celluloid-coated paper card stock, with 16 color, photo-mechanical, reduced size images of display plates, with printed floral designs, to be used to display photographic portraits. With heading: CHART NO. 8 LATEST OBLONG PLACQUES, FLORAL and PLAIN HAND PAINTED NATURAL LIFE TINT COLORS, SIZE 6 x 8 OBLONG. This features: No. 126 For Full Photos; 121 Oak; 132 Apple Blossoms; 133 Lilies & Daisies; 127 Sweet Roses; 137 Poppies; 138 Lily of Valley & White Rose; 130 Violets & Spiraea; 136 Poppies & Violets; 134 Butterfly & Rose; 140 Violets, Apple Blossoms; 139 Butterfly & Roses; 131 Lilies of Valley & Forget-Me-Nots; 122 For Groups or Sceneries; 119 Oak, Ivorette or Mahogany; 118 Mahogany, Oak or Ivorette. Some pencilled numbers on the back of the card. The sheet shows some curling, light yellowing to the surface. Very scarce tradesman's sample cards, these were kept in photographic studios, novelty & gift shops, to assist in ordering these now, quite rare and collectable plates; Number eight of a larger series. Few of these now survive, as they easily deteriorate if not protected from light and heat (they must be stored away from bright light, heat, and as with any celluloid products, away from any open flame, or high heat).
