Two volumes, complete. Finely bound in gilt embossed leather by Wiseman of Cambridge. All edges gilt and with marbled endpapers. Folio (each volume is 28 × 38 × 5 cms). Volume 1: 581pp, Volume 2: 634pp. Volume one with a gift inscription to J C Chisenhale Marsh dated April 1869 from Gilbert Ainslie (master of Pembroke College, Cambridge), together with a loosely inserted letter from the donor, handwritten over two sides of four folds and referring to the gift of the works and mentioning that 'his college is hopeful for Gray's manuscripts and published works' for their collection. A delightful and scarce copy of the works of Thomas Gray, including his Elegy in a Country Churchyard and also includes a considerable amount of previously unpublished material. Condition: In attractive and tightly bound condition, there is some scuffing and marking to the spines and cover edges, and both volumes with scattered foxing, heavy in places, to the endpapers, title and first and last few pages but the majority of the text clean and bright. This is a heavy set weighing nearly 10kg so postage will be by courier. PLEASE NOTE: This item is heavy and will require extra postage. N° de ref. de la librería
