Frontispiece, illustrations, decorative endpapers. Fine. First of this compilation, containing "Little Women," "Little Men" and "Short Stories." Choice autograph addition: This copy bears on the front flyleaf an archival decorative-edged bookplate boldly signed and inscribed in black fineline by Madeleine B. Stem (1912-2007), who is thanked in this book's acknowledgments. Stern was the famed antiquarian bookseller and scholar well known in Alcott circles for discovering and publishing a quartette of pseudonymously published Alcott potboilers ("Behind a Mask, or a Woman's Power," "Pauline's Passion and Punishment," "The Mysterious Key and What It Opened" and "The Abbot's Ghost, or Maurice Treherne's Temptation") originally published under the name "A.M.
