Yes, this 130 page First American Edition stated, being an increasingly well respected and energetically applauded offering it is proudly presented with great and well deserved hubris by Hirschfeld Galleries in BOTH the publishers original binding and original dustwrapper. The binding is decorative pink and blue patterned paper-covered boards. And this cherub is rock solid tight and clean. The jakcet is unclipped but does have significant ede chipping and some soiling on the rear cover. But not to worry or be sad, for said imperfection is made considerably less objectionable, since, on the very positive side of things, the jacket is now and forevermore protected from any future ambient abuse and resulting degradation by professionally fitted and applied yet instantly removable Brodart mylar. Hirschfeld Galleries' offerings such as this one which take on a life of their own and speak so very loudly for themselves. Read to learn and enjoy; go forth to share and enjoin. Research, analysis, dissertation, lucubrations or just enjoyment, this is the one. ACTUAL BOOK FOR SALE PICTURED. PLEASE DOUBLE CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE. And even if you're not interested at this time, THANKS for looking! The title refers to the creatures a very poor addled old lady (Dame Edith Evans) imagines in her paranoid fantasies. They lurk behind every drip, drip, drip of a leaky faucet. They listen all coiled up in a silent radio. The old lady is on to all their tricks, and she tells them so repeatedly. She reports them regularly to the police who scoff at her behind her back. The whisperers, however, are only part of her fantasy life. She imagines also that she is a daughter of aristocracy, an heiress waiting for her money to arrive so that she can pay back the nice gentleman at the Welfare Board. Her routine is shattered irrevocably by the return of her thieving son and vagrant husband, a brief fling with stolen money ending dismally in the gutter where the poor prey on the poor. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 007755
