He returns victorious, which strikes fear in the government. Is this the saviour who the people are seeking? William Pitt, the great British Prime Minister, is very concerned. He does not want a hero across the Channel. He needs to find out more about Bonaparte. His plans, hopes and fears for France. Pitt needs to send a top spy to Paris, to get as close to Napoleon Bonaparte as possible. John Aston does not know it, but he is to be that man.
