Acerca de

When Myron Coloney ran away from a cruel stepmother, he didn't realize that he was about to become woven into the fabric of American history. Compiled and narrated by his great-great-granddaughter, this is a look at Myron and his wife Josephine, who played small but pivotal roles in great events.

About the Author:

Susan Dale Rose grew up with stories of Myron Coloney and his siblings, and was so captured by the disappearance of little Sarah Coloney that she named her first daughter for that long-ago child. A writer and horsewoman who divides her time between Mississippi and New Mexico, she is the Associate Editor of The Rankin Record and the owner of Wind Child Farm, a school of horsemastership. In 2005 she found herself the custodian of the family archive, rescued from the teeth of Hurricane Katrina. More than 25 years before, the trunks had barely survived a fire in her grandmother's house. "I knew it was time to protect them by sharing them," she said. Trying to make sense of the centuries of photos and documents brought the people in them to life. "Upon Our Westward Way" is the first in a series of books about an inventive, adventurous family of pioneers.
