One original contract to build with Robert McAlpine dated 3rd October 1904 signed by engineers. Condition Good, some folding and missfolding, some minor ageing dirt, edge wear, edge nicks. Also 5 letters to G.J. Whitelaw, one manuscript letter from one of the engineers B. Balken?, Also one manuscript document title Properties at Goodwick acquired under Parliamentary powers of the Fishguard Co but purchase money found by Pembrokeshire Estates Co, names of properties & lands and the prices, This item only is torn in 2 parts. All unique items relating to the building of the railway in 1904, 4 dated 1904, one dated 1901, one undated. Also the following all attached to one folded sheet of paper. Two other 1904 Waterford and Rosslare Railway original contract to build with Robert McAlpine & Sons and 3 other related items, printed & Manuscript. Including a 1904 cheque from the Fishguard & Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company to Sir William Arrol & Co Ltd (Sir William Arrol 1839 ? 1913 Scottish civil engineer, bridge builder, and Liberal Unionist Party politician, He was also contracted by Harland and Wolff Shipyard, to construct a large gantry for the construction of three new super-liners, one of which was called the RMS Titanic.) sadly this is also glued to paper with other items and has the base and edges damaged. Typed copy of documents about purchase re Rose & Crown, 2 page typed copy of a letter about purchase re Rose & Crown + 3 single sided pages re Fishguard & Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company; Extract from a meeting of the directors held at Paddington Station on Friday 27th October 1899, re properties at Goodwick acquired 1896 under Parliamentary powers of the Fishguard Co. + various Original hand written and signed letters and copies dated 1900, most 1901 & 1902 about Rose & Crown Public House and or properties at Goodwick, 2 from Fishguard & Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company 1901, 3 from Pembrokeshire Estates Co, 6 from Great Western Railway & 1 from T. Rule Owen & Son,Sir William Arrol Land Agency Offices. Dated 1900. Lastly an Original Printed & hand written share certificates of the Fishguard & Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company 1904 for Anthea Margaret Heywood of Sutherland Hall, Bournmouth, wife of Col. J.M. Heywood R.E. £100 share certificate No 25. All Original Printed & hand written share certificates , Fishguard & Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company 1904 share certificate,l unique documents relating to the construction of the line from Water-ford to Rosslare, sanctioned by Parliament in 1898, and completed c1905, opened in 1906. From the Net; The Waterford To Rosslare Railway line opened on 1st August 1906 but was closed by Iarnród Éireann on 18th September 2010 due to low demand for the service. The line is/was owned by the Fishguard & Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company. See all scans.
