Revised Final Draft script, later photocopy, for an unproduced film written by screenwriter Nunnally Johnson. From the estate of Nunnally Johnson.Based on the 1921 play by E. Temple Thurston, a literal retelling of the myth of the Wandering Jew, following him from Christ's crucifixion through the Spanish Inquisition. Despite having already been filmed in 1923 and 1933, and having met with the approval of a number of rabbis, Johnson's script was shelved by Twentieth Century-Fox president Spyros Skouras for being too controversial.Blue titled wrappers. Title page present, noted as Revised Final, dated November 18, 1957, with credits for screenwriter Johnson and playwright Thurston. 143 leaves, with last leaf of text numbered 143.
