About the Author: Gary Black was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio area. He earned his M.Ed., B.S. Ed., and B.F.A. at Kent State University, and his A.A. at Cuyahoga Community College. He is an artist, musician, author, songwriter, art educator, and guitar instructor. He has produced and recorded his original music, is a talented, accomplished artist, and has written the book Gyroscope to increase sepsis awareness. He wrote his second book, The Wake, to expose abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older persons, and to promote elder abuse awareness, education, prevention, and intervention, with hope that all older individuals can age with dignity.
