Descripción

136 pages; Clean and tight in original gray cloth binding in original box (book in excellent condition, box worn and split). "Here, in fifty unique color photographs, are Nature's wonders -- transfixed forever by the camera of a great artist." Of these fifty plate, forty-six contain full page images and four contain halfpage images. Jeannette Klute photographed elements of nature in the Bristol, New York area, as well as in New England, using a large format camera (a 4-by-5 Graflex single-lens reflex) and a shallow depth of focus. She captured magical images of many of the smallest, loveliest flora and fauna in their natural settings, taking particular care not to disturb their existence in the process. In addition to her artistic photography, Klute was a brilliant colour technologist at Eastman Kodak Company from the 1940s until 1982. For many years, she worked as photographic illustrator for world renowned physicist Ralph M. Evans. This book Woodland Portraits presents her series of magnificent dye transfer colour prints including Trilium, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, Ostrich Fern, Large Yellow Lady's Slipper, Indian Pipe, Red-Tailed Dragonfly on Cedar, Wild Calla, American Copper Butterfly, Foam Flower, White Lady's Slipper, Wild Ginger, Cinnamon Fern, Common Milkweed, Death Angel, Green Frog, Painted Turtle, Grass Pink, Spotted Turtle, etc. N° de ref. de la librería 38500
