Gilt embossed decorative design of intertwined leaves to the head and tail of the spines with gilt embossed lettering also to the spine. Each volume illustrated with frontispiece with tissue guards. All upper edges gilt. A slight bump to one corner of Villette ( Volume I). A bump to one corner of Wuthering Heights. A few corners of the volumes are slightly turned in. Some light soil marks to the boards of a few volumes, and a light ring mark to the front board of Villette, Volume II. Light foxing to the end papers and paste downs. The odd page corner has been turned, leaving a neat crease in four of the volumes. A tear of 1.5 cm from the front edge of pages 275-277 of Wuthering Heights, only affecting the margin of the pages, not in anyway the text. Slight splitting between pages 498 and 499 of this volume, however the boards remian attached. The pages of the volumes are fresh, clean and tight. A very good copy of this collectable set.
