Venusberg, Anthony Powell, William Heinemann Ltd, 1955 , New Edition This is a new (second) edition of the novel printed in 1955. Set in an unidentified baltic country the novel, clearly draws on Powell's experiences in Estonia and Finland and follows his usual critical examination of society. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the gilt lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in good condition, with shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine, a small amount of loss to the top corner of the front cover and a faint red pen mark to the back cover.
