Descripción:

Two color maps, approx. 37 x 37 inches, printed back to back on one cloth sheet 41 x 38 inches, folded as issued. Very good, clean condition with light soiling to lower right corner along fold. This is an "evasion", "survival" or "escape" vintage map compiled for the U.S. Air Force at the time of the Korean War; these light-weight "silk" maps (actually most were man-made fabrics) were carried by military personnel with missions in enemy territory, each map containing information crucial to facilitating escape to friendly territory. Topography indicated with contour lines. Scale 1:2,000,000. Map of the Obskaya Gulf includes approximate coordinates 52 to 108 degrees east and 58 to 74 degrees north. Map of the Khatanga River includes approximate coordinates 84 to 140 degrees east and 58 to 74 degrees north, plus an inset map: Navigational Star Chart. 'Published by the Aeronautical Chart Service, U. S. Air Force, Washington D.C., February 1950 (C&GS) Base No.1'. N° de ref. de la librería
