Both items one page, quarto. Both in good condition though creased (particularly the carbon) and with a few closed tears. Both with pin holes to one corner. Letter, bearing R.S.A. stamp, signed 'S. Y. Edge'. 'I enclose a copy of a letter which I have today written to Mr. Thorne Baker, and should be very much obliged if you would kindly address the accompanying envelope containing the original copy of the letter, to Mr. Baker, as I do not happen to know his address.' Carbon requests 'full particulars in regard to installing an electrical device for experimenting with the growth of chickens which you referred to in your recent lecture at the Royal Society of Arts'. Asks for details 'of an installation for experimenting with pigs'. 'I would install it say for one or two styes just to experiment with.' He keeps 'very careful records of all these sorts of things', has 'very good buildings' etc, and would be willing to share his results. N° de ref. de la librería 3870
