TLS, 1p, 6¼" X 9¼", El Paso, TX, 22 November 1953. Addressed to Arnold F. Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar). Near fine. Faint original mailing folds. On personal letterhead, Lea thanks an admirer for "your very fine review of my novel THE WONDERFUL COUNTRY.
