This American astronomer and botanist was named curator of astronomy at the American Museum of Natural History in 1924 and head of the then-new Hayden Planetarium in 1935. TLS, 1p, 8" X 10½", New York, NY, 1930 April 25. Addressed to A.M. MacMahon (curator of physics and chemistry at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry). Very good. On letterhead of "The American Museum of Natural History," Fisher writes: "Although it is not very good photographically I shall be pleased to send you a copy of my photograph of Galileo's telescopes. One leaf, typed to recto; signature, etc., in blue ink. Three horizontal folds, but paper clean/bright. With the letter is a 'Copy of notes sent to [the historian] Ronald Lewin' (two leaves, each typed full to recto) in which Dunphie recalls his 'Impressions on H.Q. ALFSEA [Allied Land Forces, South East Asia], Nov. [19]44'. One horizontal fold to each leaf, but paper clean/bright. There is also a brief cricketing reference to Lords. (Brockman served in the Royal Navy 1927-1965, a long/distinguished career which included being Admiral's Secretary to Admirals of the Fleet Sir Dudley Pound/Lord Louis Mountbatten, and participating in accepting the surrender of the Japanes Fleet in 1945.)
