First page headed in manuscript: 'Origin of the Joint Board', and with various passages marked up in the same hand. Begins: 'A conference of members of the legal profession representative of the whole of Wales was held on Saturday at the University College, Aberystwyth. The conference was the outcome of the extension to the work of legal education carried on by the Law Department of the College, which has lately been effected successfully for articled clerks in South Wales and North Wales, and in support of which grants of money have been made by the Incorporated Law Society, thus opening out an entirely new prospect for legal education in Wales.'
