Marshall incorporating portrait of the author, 2616 woodcut illustrations within the text, slight loss to upper corner of engraved and printed title, small repairs to extreme upper corner of following six leaves affecting a few letters, Z1 holed with loss of several words, some light dampstaining, contemporary calf, neatly rebacked, spine blind-stamped in compartments, new red morocco lettering piece, corners neatly repaired. The descriptions in many instances are new and great care was exercised to secure accuracy in indicating localities."—Green.
