Sinopsis: We were all touched by the Vietnam War in some way. Veterans, their families, friends and a whole new generation still have unanswered questions about that turbulent time. "Not Enough Tears" lets you see the good and bad through the eyes of a young army draftee sent to fight for his nation. Duty and patriotic pride quickly degenerated into a fight for survival. Taking one of the most dangerous jobs in an infantry company, Dave came home with hardly a scratch. There were no odds to explain the supernatural protection he received. After two months, that covering extended to everyone around him when he walked point. Over time, that unbelievable "luck" turned into a curse as walking point and going home became vexing choices between life and death. Like most vets, Dave thought he buried the war after coming home. Surviving the horrors of Vietnam meant he could handle anything. Thirty years later his life was falling apart. He'd given up. Leaving his family seemed to be the only way to stop the pain. Learn the lessons in "Not Enough Tears" which can bring healing to tens of thousands who are still hurting and don't understand why.

From the Author: Like many veterans of the Vietnam war, I came home to a different world than the one I'd left a year before.  My family, my fiancee and I expected my return to a "normal" life, picking up where we left off before volunteering for the draft in mid-'68.  In order to succeed I thought, "I'll have to bury what happened deeply enough and deny it bothered me strongly enough to keep away the fear of being overwhelmed by it all."  I didn't know how to face it, I didn't know what had changed and didn't realize you can't go back in time.  All these things made readjustment back into society very confusing, frustrating and painful for all of us.

After thirty years of total failure meeting anyone's expectations, I reached the end of myself.  There were no more ideas of what might help with the worsening nighmares, angry outbursts, depression and guilt that were sufficating each and every day.  After I'd given up and was ready to leave my family in a last ditch attempt to stop the pain, I finally heard a small voice in my head saying, "OK, you've tried it your way, now do you want to try it my way?"  I believe it was the voice on God that I was unable to hear while trying my best to fix a broken life.  Only after the realization that I couldn't do it alone, could I then hear the voice of help.

It was like starting all over again but I didn't have anything else to loose.  I had failed in all my efforts.  From this humility, God picked me up and continues to guide me (sometimes kicking and screaming) into all that is good and right.  One of the first steps was to tell the complete story of what happened in the life of a low grade US soldier walking point through the jungels and rice paddies where anyone could suddenly become the enemy.

Not Enough Tears is the accumilation of all the fractured and tortured memories of my part in a far off war that tore our nation apart, and the difficulties in dealing with opposing realities of war and what is considered  a "normal" life back home.  I always knew but didn't consciously acknowledge that there was nothing I did or could have done that brought me home from Vietnam without a scratch.  I was no different than anyone else out in the jungle.  Fear was constant and adrenalin was peaked a majority of my 365 day tour.

Until it was all recorded, I didn't realize how many mericles God had performed so I could come home in one piece.  Others need to know the stories.  They are not mine alone.  They represent some of the same emotions all those in combat experience and can identify with.  Those coming home from Iraq and Aghanistan are going through the same dissillusionment.  I would have never believed it before going to Vietnam, but in the end, God can use all these things for our good.  Let Him help.
