First edition, 8vo., later ink ownership and comment written at top of title, (4), 52, (1)pp., disbound. Elizabeth (Eliza) Haywood (1693? - 1756), authoress, actress and publisher, was a prolific writer of fiction and along with Delarivier Manley and Aphra Benn the trio became known as the "Fair Triumvirate of Wit" and are considered as the most prominent writers of Amatory Fiction.
