Short edge tears to covers, chip to head and tail of spine, 1 inch area of paper loss to back cover; MISSING pp727-730 (perhaps full page color illustrations?), a few pages with small ink stamp, otherwise interior good with soft bump to lower right corner of first dozen pages. Magazine features both fiction and non-fiction articles with emphasis on western topics. Extensive black and white advertising, much promoting opportunities for settlers in the West. Illustrated article "Japan in the European War", "Carrying the War Into the Pacific"; articles "The War of Wet and Dry" (Prohibition). Fiction "Tales of Old Chinatown" by Grant Carpenter with illustrations by Arthur Cahill. Full page illustrated advertising for Pacific Electric Railway, Kern County, El Paso, San Diego Panama Exposition, and much more. There is Part 1 of Tales of Old Chinatown by Grant Carpenter with illustrations by Arthur Cahill. Very cute Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes color advertisement by Miss Eugenie Wireman "For Kiddies not Kitties." Color cover illustration by W.H. Bull of an Aneroid Barometer.
