One hundred years of a notable British pottery manufacturer. (1851-1951) was marked by this company history. The South Staffordshire pottery of J and G Meakin saw out a century of productivity while others in the area came and went, largely due to its innovative and progressive attitude to "production, management and marketing." The book follows the establishment, development, progress and trading trends of the company over the 100 years, the personalites who founded the firm and made it a leader in its field. This is no dry and technical publication, but an interesting tour through the life and times of a renowned pottery. This little book will provide an intimate look at the J and G Meakin brand for collectors of the company products. First edition of 1951, 64 pges, tipped in b/w frontis photo of Eagle Pottery, four colour photos of Meakin products, 24 b/w photos, small intext humerous drawings, colour plan e/papers of the five towns of the Hanley area surrounding the pottery facilities. VG green hard covers have narrow fade band front top, gilt titles to front, spine strip with gilt titles slightly sunned, internally excellent, no inscriptions. N° de ref. de la librería 004548
