Descripción Reprint Edition. Paperbound 8vo (9 inches tall) 125 pages. Description: Several black and white illustrations. Originally published in 1965, this is a reprint edition. Preface by Harold L Peterson. The author's foreword explains that these guns were produced prior to and during the Civil War. Ethan Allen and Thomas P Wheelock manufactured firearms from 1856 through 1865 -- a period of nine years through which these brothers-in-law produced the largest number of variations of firearms manufactured in the same period of time. These guns were manufactured in percussion, lip fire and rim fire, center hammer, side hammer, and bar hammer, with some of the most unique ejection and tamping systems known to man, also in all practical calibers of that period.
