Book Condition: Very Good Plus. Dust Jacket Condition: Good Plus. With Portraits of the Femmes Fatales By Campbell Grant (illustrator). presumed First Edition. 5 1/4 X 7 1/2 Inches. Actual full subhead is "Being a brief account of certain famous women, each of them richly endowed with some quality that drives men mad, omitting no impertinent and unbelievable fact and based upon a stupendous amount of firsthand and secondhand research, some of it in books." Minor wear to one corner, another corner banged, spine titles considerably faded. Dust jacket age-tanned, especially to spine, with substantial chipping at all corners. DJ price clipped; Arnold Shaw authored the books ''The Rock Revolution,'' ''The World of Soul: Black America's Contribution to the Pop Music Scene,'' ''The Street That Never Slept, 52d Street,'' and ''The Rockin' 50s,'' among others. He taught music for about 10 years at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and founded the Popular Music Research Center there in 1985. The center, which he headed until his death in 1989, was established to preserve and study books, articles, recordings and memorabilia related to pop music. During the 1950s and 1960s he did public relations and advertising for Elvis Presley, Burt Bacharach and Paul Simon, and was a music publishing executive with the Edward B.
